Artist Statement
Regina Argentin channels the subconscious through luminous gradients and a dreamlike fusion of abstraction and figuration. Drawing from Rococo ornamentation and mysticism, her work weaves nature, wildlife, and the divine feminine into ethereal realms shaped by myth, beauty, and quiet melancholy. Through portraiture and surreal narratives, she explores the intimate bond between humanity and the natural world.
“My recent work reflects themes and characters from my graphic novel narratives. Introspective thoughts, dreams, devotion and melancholia are depicted within images of portraiture, adventure, supernatural situations, all within a framework of the connective relationship of human beings to nature and other species. The divine feminine, animal rights and spirituality are my central themes.”
Regina Argentin received her BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and later earned a Master’s degree in spiritual Psychology, informing her nuanced, human-centered approach to art and aesthetics. After graduating, she moved to New York City to pursue a career as a professional fine artist, participating in solo and group exhibitions and earning multiple fellowship residencies. She eventually returned to her native Los Angeles, where she worked in the film industry as an art director. Today, she continues to create and exhibit fine art, teach, and run her own fine and decorative arts business. She is also the founder of Made by an Artist, a luxury vegan, organic skincare line rooted in ancient botanical traditions..
